The rooms are clean and comfortable, with small balconies that offer an amazing view of the surrounding vineyards. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant stay. The breakfast provided is delicious, with homemade treats that are a delightful start to the day.

This is a clean, well run, budget hotel with very helpful staff in a good location to explore the Chianti region. The room and bathroom were well presented and for Euro 164 for a double room for two nights with continental breakfast included it was exceptional value. A car is needed but free parking is provided over the road from the hotel entrance.

This wouldn't be a hotel to stay at if you want a pool or luxury but it is an ideal base to get out and about from.

Good price very friendly and helpful staff who spoke v good English.. Only draw back was that it was on a main road, however we were at the back where it was quiet. Would recommend as good value stop over

The location was easy to find. It was on the main road that made it easy to get around. The proprietor was very helpful and accomodating. There is a restaurant on the main level, which at night is frequented by locals. The breakfast which was encluded with the price of the room was simple, not very gratifying. We found the rooms large, clean and airconditioned. The bathroom was renovated and very roomy.

Spent Christmas at this lovely hotel and was blown away by the excellent service and amazing food. the staff was friendly and helpful; they even suggested some great places to go nearby. the location was perfect for us as we were able to easily explore the surrounding area. the room was spacious and clean with a breathtaking view that we absolutely loved.

Honestly, there was nothing that we disliked about our experience at this hotel. the only thing that we could think of is that we wish we could have stayed longer!

The friendliness of the staff and the food which was really outstanding. We would definately stay there again.

The water pressure for the shower was rather low but everything else was really excellent.

The owner is delightful and tries to please any request. We had the best meal of our two week trip in his small and charming restaurant.. Chioochio is a tiny town in the heart of Chianti, yet close to Florence.Ask for a room on a lower level on the back side as highway noise can be a bit much. We loved this place!

We had a wonderful stay! The hotel was spotless and had fantastic facilities. There was ample parking and transportation to nearby wineries was readily available. The location in the heart of the Chianti region was perfect for exploring. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

We were in Italy for nearly a month, stayed in some 4 stars hotels, but the 5 days spent at Locanda Il Gallo were the best of our trip. We made sure we came back from our excursions to have dinner there and it was always absolutely delicious. Alessio, the owner, helped us with the wine recommendations, and with any question we had or advice for our trip. What a sweet, helpful, and kind man! Great sense of humor as well, and very knowledgeable. The hotel is spotless and pleasant. The bus to Florence, a 40 minute ride, stops in front of the hotel. The hotel is a short ride to Sienna and a perfect place from which to visit the Chianti region. We left with much regret. When again in Italy we will make it a point to return there.
